The Girlie show tour filled the erotica-sex era, a show ful of explicit scenes, provocations and controversies. Althoug it was ment to be a bestselling, it was not just because of the scandals that interested Madonna's life in the period, incriminating her carreer.
Anyway artistically talking it was a really great show: 1.500 costumes for the cast (all designed by Dolce and Gabbana) and a set up time befor of the gig of about 24 H. It's the extravaganza tour for sure: it goes from mistress of bondage to Marlene's old lool, passing trough 70ties carnival parties, baroque and gloomy queen and also sporty time!
In so many countries Madonna had to calm down the venues censuring some of the scenes. In Puerto Rico she caused lots of talking becaouse of her grabbing the official State's flag beetween her legs. A German political man also was called to boicott the show because of nudity on stage.The show was cancelled, but it was said that was due to set problems.
Same was in Israel were she was welcomed with orthodox jews staged protests.
